Okay how do i get the tips of my hair to straighten?

Q. Whenever i straighten my hair tips flip outward how do i stop that? Thanks

A. If the ends of your hair are extremely damaged or you just have bad split ends, that could be causing your problem. If that's the case, then maybe you should consider a trim. If not, first, use extra heat protectant & then go over the ends a few more times than normal and then mist with hairspray. Hope this helps. (:

How does straightening damage hair? Also need some tips for straightening?
Q. How does it damage hair? Anyting I can do to prevent damage? Any tips for straightening hair? help.

A. the heat from the straighteners can fry your hair and cause split ends, same when you lay any source of heat directly on your hair as you're evaporating the moisture from it which causes it to become dry and damaged. straightening can also make your hair static and flyaway (=when your hair goes in all different directions) so use a heat protection spray to control it and protect it from becoming excessively overheated. also it's best if you use ceramic straighteners as opposed to metal ones because even though they have a higher operating temperature that'd initially be considered as damaging to hair (170 degrees celsius) they have the ability to transfer heat quickly and smoothly to the hair without grabbing which is very effective in creating smoother effects. other hot styling tools without a non-slip coating or ceramic surface can often tend to stick to hair which can cause damage as the hair will bond to the edges of the equipment until removal. whenever you straighten your hair it's best to start at a lower temperature and gradually increase it so your hair can adapt to the applied heat quicker. another tip, when hairspray/styling products have been used on your hair they can cause a build-up on the surface of the straighteners and over time it'll cause tacky or sticky points to develop on the surface. hair can stick to these areas and cause damage and the sticky points also stop the equipment from gliding smoothly over the hair so make sure you take care of your straighteners and don't overuse sprays or styling products.

What are some good tips on straightening hair? products?
Q. i just REALLY want to know some good tips on straightening hair to make it extra straight and stay straight, i have EXTREMELY curly hair, and its dry and poofy so i like to straighten it a lot. any tips? id also like to know some products you would recommend to make it smooth, straight, and silky soft! thanks !

A. First of all, don't straighten your hair when it's curly. Blow dry your hair as straight as you can get it, THEN flat iron it. be sure to get an ionic, ceramic blow dryer and a ceramic (tourmaline is also good) iron. They help smooth your hair and decrease frizz without damaging your hair as much. I actually use a blow dryer from Europe that isn't sold anymore but I know that Conair blow dryers are good. When you get an iron, get a really good one. It will cost a lot but it's a good investment. Try to get a Solia, Sedu or a CHI. Solias are the least expensive (about 80 dollars) and the best straightener of the three. The sedu is better for your hair though, it keeps it shinier and smoother-just not as straight. The Chi's are ok and are around the same price as the Solia, but they only have ceramic coating. Be sure to get a serum, straightening product, heat protectant and a holding hairspray. John Frieda frizz ease have REALLY good serums (i use original) and straightening products (i use their straightening spray.) ALWAYS use a heat protectant before you flat iron your hair, otherwise it will damage your hair a lot worse. Try the Tresemme thermal creations spray. Then to hold your straight hair, use Dove Straightening Spray. It's non aerosol, doesn't make your hair as hard as a rock and it works well. If your hair really frizzes up during the day, get a smoothing creme for dry hair. Try either Frizz Ease finishing creme or garnier fructis anti humidity smoothing milk

Is it harder to straighten hair with layers?
Q. I recently asked a question for tips on straightening hair and someone said that when you have layers it is harder to straighten. Is this true?
Thank you for the answers :) Does it make it look poofier than normal?
My hair is pretty thick. I only have tiny layers but I was thinking about getting more.

A. Yeppp it is. Layers make your hair thicker than usual. I know when i got my hair layered its hard. but if you have the time then you should go for it because it's a cuteee look : )
