What hair products do I need to style my hair without making my hair crispy?

Q. Any suggestions or personal experience would help. If you wouldn't mind stating what products you use and what style hair you have that would be great. I personally want my hair kind of messy but I want it to hold without being hard.

A. I have straight hair, but i curl it, and put it in many hard to hold positions.

I recommend Dove Flexible Hold, it doesnt make your hair go as hard as any other hairspray! I love it and have used it for 1 1/2 years. It also smells so fresh and natural!

You'll love it!

How do i get scene style hair?

A. first bring a picture of short scene hair to your hairstylist...one of these is good..:

you can get them at any beauty supply store just ask for one

then buy hairspray..you need EXTRA STRENGTH hairspray trust me i have 6 bottles and i only use one because i had to test all the other ones so use tresemme tres two extra hold(i got it at target)
http://www.tresemme.com/classic-styling/products/tres-two-extra-hold-hairspray.aspx

also you need to get hair bows! i buy mine at claires at the mall

now you are ready to get your scene hair but if you dont want to look like a poser then after you get your hair cut dont tease it for like a week then start teasing it..
# Spray the hair with an aerosol hairspray first and let it dry.

# Using a rattail comb or other fine toothed comb, and part off a section of hair from the rest of the strands. Many women tease their bang section, so if thats what you're doing, leave bangs down only. Clip the rest of your hair out of the way. Smaller sections work best and will provide for tighter and longer lasting hold.

# Hold the hair strand straight up with one hand while you hold your comb with the other hand. Comb (or stroke) the hair strand from the ends of your hair down towards the scalp. Repeat this until all the hair looks teased. The backcombed strand should feel thicker than the rest of your hair. Spray the section with hairspray and go on to the next section.

# If you want a more uniform and long lasting style, hold the new section so that when you tease hair you are actually grabbing a small piece from the last section. This will prevent "holes" in your hair style.

# When all your hair is teased, take a soft natural bristled brush and gently smooth the hair down. Take care to not brush too hard since you only want to smooth the very top layer.

# Finish your style with a flexible hair spray or a freeze spray, depending on how long you want your style to last. Add a touch of spray shine or shine product to smooth any stray hairs.

*If you want your hair to stand up at the roots, another way to get them to cooperate and achieve this is to:

1) Decide which hair sections you want to lift up. (i.e. bangs)

2) Spray the roots with either freeze hairspray or use a apply a firm holding gel or mousse on the roots.

3) Holding your hair straight up by the ends, use the low control on your blow dryer and dry the roots that you sprayed with hairspray or applied gel or mousse to.

This will freeze your roots in the upright position. You won't have to tease hair to get it to lift. This will also hold for hours if the air around you isn't too humid. The more humidity in the air, the less time the effect will last.

and ta-da you are scene hope i helped

How do I style my hair like Ryan from the OC? What product does he use?
Q. How would I make Ryan's trademark kind of messy fringe / bangs style hair? What kind of products would I use, and would I blow dry my hair? I have the same length and colour as him. Many, many thanks.
Many thanks for the "he's so hot" and "you're too vain" responses. You absolute retards.

A. When you get out of the shower, towel dry your hair. Get most of the "drippeys" out. Get a stick wax (I strongly recommend TIGI's Bed Head hair stick), and take the top off. Run the wax all over the top of your head...just directly rub the wax on your hair--not necessarily in any particular manner--just kind of run it all over (in a crazy pattern that almost covers your hair) once. Then run your fingers through it, messily styling it with you rfingers. Take four fingers and pull up on some parts, etc. Toussle it until your desired results are visible, and you're good to go! :) Good luck and have fun with it!

How do I do I cut and style barbie hair?
Q. I need help with styling barbie doll hair. My sister has a Hannah Montana doll and it has the old style hair. She wants the new style doll but we don't have money right now, so I want to do it myself. How do i cut the hair so its perfectly straight and how do I give the hair a slight wave? Do I need to put some sort of product in the hair to keep it in place?

-Jason

A. Hi, Jason! I can answer your question. Barbie dolls are always rooted with either saran hair or kanekalon hair. Your sister's Hannah Montana doll has saran hair.

To cut the hair straightly, that's just a matter of the steadiness of your hand. There's no real trick to it... you just cut it the same way you would cut a person's hair.

To give it a slight wave, you would have to do what we call a "boil perm". Saran hair needs REALLY hot, boiling water if you want it to keep its style. You could put the hair in curlers, but you said that you're only looking for a slight wave, so my advice is to put Hannah Montana's hair in a braid. Now, when your water is really boiling, you'll dip her head, along with the whole braid, into the boilimg water. Leave it in there for about 10-15 seconds (one mississippi, two mississipi).

Then, you'll follow that with an immediate bath of ice water to shock the hair into its new style.

After that, just let the doll sit there for about 24 hours. You want her hair to be totally dry before you undo the braid. Once you undo the braid, you'll see that her hair has a very pretty wave.

If you want to use a product to keep the hair in place, you can just use regular hair gel. It works great! Remember to use clear hair gel, as opposed to blue or green or whatever, because the colored hair gels can sometimes impart their color to the doll's hair, and I don't think your sister would want Hannah Montana to have blue hair :)
